Events to showcase a unique side of the largest freshwater lake in the world

October 18, 2018               Nipigon, Ontario                        Parks Canada Agency

Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area is excited to introduce the #WeLoveSuperior Speaker Series – a monthly event hosted by expert speakers highlighting the cultural, scientific and historical background of the North Shore and its connection with Lake Superior.

Through these events, Parks Canada hopes that Canadians will develop a deeper understanding of what makes Lake Superior such a remarkable place, with its vast area, diverse peoples, cultures, and marine ecosystems. The #WeLoveSuperior Speaker Series will provide visitors with an opportunity to discover and celebrate these stories.

October’s upcoming event explores a true story about the fastest member of the animal kingdom, who happens to live on Lake Superior’s North Shore. Brian Ratcliff, a wildlife biologist and Coordinator of Project Peregrine with Thunder Bay Field Naturalists, will share his experiences with Peregrine Falcons.

This free event will take place on October 25th, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. at La Luna Cafe, 46 Front Street in Nipigon.

To stay up-to-date on all of the Parks Canada’s events going on throughout the year, visitors are encouraged to check out the Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area’s website www.parkscanada.gc.ca/superior or follow us on Facebook (@LakeSuperiorNMCA) and Twitter (@LkSuperiorNMCA).
